Turndown Assistant

20 hours per week

General cleaning of all areas of the hotel and to provide quality bedroom service, turndown service and refresh service.

Responsibilities

  • To check all public toilets: Stock up with fresh towels, remove all soiled towels, make sure there are three spare   toilet rolls in each toilet, clean the sinks, mirrors and toilets.
  • To make sure you get a handover from the Duty Day Housekeeper so you are up to date with all the information.
  • To get an up to date bed sheet from PC.
  • To make sure you record everything in the evening handover book, ie. Toothbrush to SUT of what time you finish, plus what sections the maids are working on.
  • Lost Property – make sure it is all bagged up, recorded and put in lost property bag in cupboard. If you need to send lost property to guests, put in jiffy bag with guest’s name and address and with a compliments slip inside.  Record in book where you are sending the package.
  • Pressing – you will be bleeped by PC to a room to do a guest’s pressing. ALWAYS return guest laundry on a hanger or place in a basket.  This looks nicer for the guest plus charge guest.
  • Public toilets will need checking throughout the evening.
  • To keep the Housekeeping office clean and tidy as this saves time for the day Housekeeper on duty.
  • The Housekeepers may give you a list of jobs to do in the evening when giving you a handover. If you cannot finish them, record in the evening handover book.
  • Record any room which refuses service.
  • Please phone one of the day Housekeepers in the evening if you need help with anything.
  • Check all the keys are back in the boxes. When you are sure they are all in, lock the key cupboard and put the keys in the safe.
  • To make sure all pantries are locked and the lights are out.
  • The two doors in the Housekeeping office must be locked before you go home.
  • To tell the Duty Manager that you have finished and would it be OK to go.
  • To ask PC for a lift to the car park at night. Do not walk to the car park in the dark
  • To check the laundry before you go home, that everything is switched off, ie. Machines, lights, iron and so on. Make sure the doors are locked in the laundry as well.
  • To keep the Housekeeping office clean and tidy as this saves time for the day Housekeeper on duty.
  • The Housekeepers may give you a list of jobs to do in the evening when giving you a handover. If you cannot finish them, record in the evening handover book.
  • Record any room which refuses service.
  • Ensure a pleasant and courteous manner to all guest and colleagues at all times
