Iconic Luxury Hotels Party...
A round-up of the #IconicParty: A celebration of all things Iconic...
On May 9, 2019 we were delighted to welcome a host of wonderful guests to the walled garden of The Cliveden Spa for a celebration of all things Iconic Luxury Hotels.
Guests enjoyed a red carpet arrival and Veuve Clicquot Champagne reception followed by stellar entertainment courtesy of acoustic trio Wandering Hands and Radio 1 DJ Chris Stark.
The garden looked spectacular, with food stalls, a pic 'n' mix station, #IconicParty social media wall, and champagne bar, all set against a backdrop of twinkly lights and Cliveden's famous clocktower. A mini food festival ensued as tents serving delicious fare from all four Iconic properties showcased each hotel's unique dining style...
At Cliveden's station, guests enjoyed delights such as barbecue squab pigeon with corn salsa and charred pepper, tandoori monk fish brochette with lime pickle, summer garden raw vegetable pots with spiced houmous and mushroom soil, and a selection of cheese dishes; Rebellion ale Welsh rarebit with pickled onion, torched Golden Cross with fig and walnut, and Barkham Blue on toast with apricot chutney.
The Lygon Arms delighted guests with spit-roast Cotswolds lamb, Evesham asparagus, watercress and lettuce pittas with a choice of sauces ranging from cool mint yoghurt through to zingy spicy ketchup. Strawberry and Cotswolds gin sorbet and Cotswolds Distillery whisky and raisin ice cream were also on the menu; a perfect celebration of all things Cotswolds.
The menu from 11 Cadogan Gardens included mouth-watering lobster rolls served with truffle, tarragon and gem lettuce; and tuna tartare with yuzu, wasabi and coriander. And for those feeling the chill, signature hot chocolate with a choice of rum, whipped cream and marshmallows were the talk of the party.
Chewton Glen treated guests to a selection of freshly prepared pizzas with a variety of toppings including St. George mushroom, wild garlic, sprouting broccoli and artichoke; West Country sobrasada, Jersey Royals, Dorset Blue Vinney and oregano; and Margherita. The pizzas were served with accompaniments such as wood-fired West Country mini chorizo; Isle of Wight tomatoes, Laverstoke Park mozzarella and basil; and olives and caper berries. The Beaulieu strawberries with lime syrup and vanilla chantilly were a real hit!
Alongside the Veuve Clicquot champagne bar, there were also a selection of Iconic cocktails on offer representing each of the properties. The Cliveden '66, Chewton Glen's Captain Marryat Mint Julep, The Lygon Arms' The Taylor Burton Affair, and 11 Cadogan Gardens' Eighteen 97.
It was a wonderful event and an absolute pleasure to welcome special guests to Cliveden House to celebrate Iconic Luxury Hotels. A delicious and entertaining evening was had by all.
