Classic Red Velvet Afternoon Tea - £40
Indulge in a perfectly prepared selection of savoury treats including delicious finger sandwiches and tempting modern touches alongside freshly baked scones with clotted cream and homemade strawberry jam, and miniature delectable bite-size cakes, pastries and delicacies based around red velvet cake. All served with full-bodied and aromatic Cliveden blend teas.
The Red Velvet Connection...
Why red velvet? You may ask. The original recipe for red velvet cake is well known in the United States from New York City's famous Waldorf-Astoria Hotel which was built by Cliveden's former owner William Waldorf Astor (1st Viscount Astor). With this in mind, we have based the sweet elements of our tea around red velvet cake and you'll even get a Cliveden Red Velvet Muffin to take away with you.
A trip to Cliveden would not be complete without a leisurely stroll around the beautiful 376 acre estate. An additional charge of £10 is levied by the National Trust for all guests visiting Cliveden House although if you are already a National Trust member there is no extra charge.
*We recommend booking at least 3 weeks in advance for weekends and special occasions.
Please note that we can cater for all dietary requirements with prior notice, including dairy free, gluten free, vegan and more. Please specify at the time of booking.
