Cliveden ‘66

To commemorate the date of George Villiers’ Cliveden being built, we have created this special cocktail served in a beautiful saucer glass.

  • 25ml Cliveden pre-mix (10ml Belvedere vodka,10ml Rose liqueur, 5ml Grand Marnier)
  • Topped up with Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label and gold leaf – served in a Champagne saucer

 

Captain Marryat Mint Julep

The julep is a drink that originated in the Southern States of America. It was Captain Marryat of the Royal Navy and famous novelist who introduced the beverage into the British Isles, and below we quote his recipe in his own words: “One of the most delightful and insinuating potations that ever was invented, and maybe drunk with equal satisfaction when the thermometer is as low as 70 degrees.”

  • 50ml Hennessy Fine de Cognac
  • 20ml syrup
  • 20ml lime juice
  • 20ml peach purée
  • 5 mint leaves

 

The Taylor Burton Affair

In 1963 Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor starred in the blockbusting movie of its time “Cleopatra.” During the filming, though they began an extramarital affair, many
of these encounters were revealed to have been at the famous Lygon Arms, in Broadway. The cocktail depicts the beautiful Violet coloured eyes of Miss Taylor with the provenance of our local Cotswolds Gin and the “scandal” portrayed in a spiced sugar Rim.

  • 50ml Cotswolds Gin
  • 10ml Lemon juice
  • 15ml Violet Liqueur
  • Spiced sugar rim

 

Eighteen 97

In the late 19th Century the meadows around Sloane Square were leased by Earl Cadogan to Henry Holland who began the process of building what is today known as Chelsea. The ‘Eighteen 97’ cocktail has been created in tribute to the year Cadogan Gardens was completed. Mixing London gin with traditional English botanicals and garden herbs, we celebrate our history in a glass.

  • 50ml Pothecary gin
  • 25ml Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto
  • 2 dashes Coriander bitters
  • 15ml home-made Thyme syrup
  • 5ml Citrus
