André Garrett joins Cliveden House from his own starring role in one of Mayfair's most celebrated restaurants to open a spectacular new dining salon that now carries his name.
Inspired by the culinary classics, André has passionately reworked long-overlooked dishes and carefully crafted some new signatures. Each one is meticulously conceived, fastidiously prepared then cooked with modernity and finished with André's defining lightness of touch.
Somerset born André places huge emphasis on the provenance of ingredients, so naturally the three course A la Carte and eight course Tasting menus will be unashamedly governed by English ingredients and guided by our seasons.
"There are two things that characterise André Garrett's cooking for me. The first is balance: every single dish is executed with precise, mutually enhancing harmony. The second is an ability to combine the remarkable with the familiar. Dishes here are special, not because they're outlandish or bang on trend, but because quality ingredients are cooked flawlessly."
Elizabeth Carter, Editor, Waitrose Good Food Guide 2015
"The new owners of Cliveden...have made two very sensible decisions. The first was to shift the dining room from the ignominy of the basement to the ground floor, overlooking the stunning formal garden. The second was to engage the services of Andre Garrett...His technique may be faultless, but there is imagination too...This was a deeply earthy, aromatic, truly gastronomic experience."
Bill Knott, FT How to Spend It
"It's Garrett in top gear - Orkney scallops, roast Bresse chicken with pumpkin and a game consommé that's positively analeptic."
Tatler Restaurant Guide 2014
"Head Chef André Garrett complements the quintessentially English setting with a menu guided by the seasons, that uses only the finest British ingredients."
