Warner Music shoots “Little Drummer Boy” at Cliveden for Children in Need

Terry Wogan and Aled Jones arrived today, 25th November, at von Essen’s Cliveden House Hotel, one of the world’s finest luxury hotels set in the heart of the Berkshire countryside, to film the music video for a new Christmas single, Little Drummer Boy (Peace on Earth). All proceeds of the single will go directly to Children in Need, whose mission is to positively change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people throughout the UK.
Cliveden has also contributed to the cause by donating the total cost of the venue hire fee to the prestigious charity.
The single and video will be produced by Warner Music and performed by the face of Children in Need himself - no, not Pudsy, but Terry Wogan - together with Welsh singer, actor and radio and TV presenter, Aled Jones.
The BBC Newsround team was also on hand, filming the shoot, to air on the BBC1 children’s news show next week.
The filming, which took place in Cliveden’s Library, originally designed for the Duke & Duchess of Sutherland and recapturing a world of style and elegance, involved the delivery of a snow machine, grand piano and 12ft Christmas tree.
Aled Jones commented on the filming: “It’s been a great day here at Cliveden. We couldn’t have chosen a better venue and the fact that the hotel will be donating the cost of what we should have been paying for the privilege of filming here is a fantastic gesture. Terry and I have sung our hearts out today for Children in Need – Let’s hope it makes it to number 1 this Christmas!”
Sue Crowley, General Manager at the von Essen hotel, says “Cliveden is delighted to be supporting Children in Need this year and to have the privilege of providing the venue for such a fabulous cause.”
Little Drummer Boy, a hugely popular Christmas song, was first released in 1977 by Bing Crosby and David Bowie. The Children in Need single is due to be released on 8th December 2008.
