Waldo’s restaurant is where you will find Chris Horridge Cliveden’s Executive Head chef, and team present their award winning and increasingly internationally recognised cuisine. In May 2009 American Food and wine magazine placed Waldos in their list of the 20 most exciting places to eat in the world. Understated elegance with a thorough understanding of nutritional biased cooking technique is the restaurants signature proving that you can truly indulge without the guilt.
Eating in Waldo’s is a memorable experience and the 3 menus have been created to offer something for one and all. Our ‘Without’ tasting menu showcases the teams very latest research in nutrition science regarding nutrient bioavailability and absorption as the chef works closely with various universities studying this area. This menu is sugar, dairy and gluten free. The ‘With’ tasting menu perhaps for those with a less experimental palate encompass’ the type of dishes you would expect to find in a high quality restaurant where the chef has firm control of his craft using the finest quality ingredients with innovative flair. We also offer a smaller a la carte menu with dishes taken from our tasting menus.
The restaurant is named after Thomas Waldo Story, the sculptor of the Fountain of Love in Cliveden’s driveway. The sculpture depicts figures swooning because they are experiencing the effects of the fountain’s wonderful elixir. The restaurant named in his honour is said to have the same effect.
In addition, there are over 800 bins of exceptional wines to choose from under the expert guidance of our Head Sommelier. These can be enjoyed in the intimate surroundings of fine and original works of art in the restaurant.
The restaurant is open Tuesday to Saturday from 7pm. Dress code: smart casual.
